Insurance giant Allianz to cut workforce by 7,500

ALLIANZ, Europe's largest insurer by premium income, is to cut 7,500 jobs from its insurance and banking operations and drop the Wasserstein name from its London-based investment bank, now to be known as Dresdner Kleinwort.
