I have an insurance question for the group. A family member in my household was a covered driver with Medical Payments Coverage C up to $5000. He was a passenger in an accident were the driver was at fault.

I don't understand why there is a claim against my policy for this accident. All medical bills should have been paid by the driver's insurance, who was also the same carrier as our insurance. State is Arkansas.

The insurance company insist I take my car to the shop that did the job because that is insured. If I wanted repair somewhere else they wont cover it. I don't want to take my car back to the shop that did such a horrible job. Don't I have the right to take it to other shop to be fixed? and doesn't the insurance company have to cover it?

I was at fault in an auto accident, no injuries to me or other driver, only minor bumper damage. The driver I hit approached me and asked for $1000 to pay hid deductible. He drafted a document we both signed stating I fully reimbursed him for the deductible. Now apparently he has filed a claim and I am being asked for $1835, the total amount of the claim, and another $1400 they paid him? I thought this was illegal because the insurance company has no more rights than the policy owner? Also, double collecting? Am I supposed to pay again?
