Renting by the room - Insurance?

Hi,

I'm in the process of purchasing a 5bd/2ba in Denver as a primary residence. As an individual I obviously don't need all 5 beds so I'm planning to rent out 4 of them to other young professionals in Denver.

Does anyone have experience with the insurance requirements for this? I know that a typical homeowners policy won't cover liability, etc. for this scenario so I'm curious whether people ended up buying.
Please help.

Thanks!

Cheapest not best - Value is important

Hi,
Do you want a claim service that pays cash and leaves you to sort out the mess (and find some non-cowboys to do the repairs) or one that provides a managed repairer network that takes care of it for you? Do you want a policy that will let you value the contents of your house and insure those, or one that assumes an average figure for a 3 bed, or 4 bed, or whatever, type of house? These are just a couple of examples to illustrate that you are not buying baked beans here and cheapest is not always best.
Please help.

Thanks!

Third Party Authorised Driver

Hi,

Can you confirm if a comprehensive motor policy would cover loss, damage or liability to the declared insured vehicle(s) if the insured allowed a third party (family member or consultant or other third party (not for reward)) to use/operate the vehicle? If the third party was at fault, would the insurance company subrogate against the authorised third party custodian?
Please help.

I have cancelled my ATV

I have cancelled my ATV insurance with Safco insurance a day before my next years payment way due.
Due to the fact that company kept double billing me, raising my rate for no reason.
Now they sent me a bill for $ 50.00, I called them about it, he said it is now an Idaho law that when you cancel your insurance I owe them more money, has anyone ever heard of this.

Insurance Claim Water Damage?

Hi,

I was driving my vehicle one day. As I was driving, all the lights on the dash came on and my car stalled. Had car towed to dealership thinking it was a batter issue. Turns out I have severe water damage which was a complete and utter shock.

The tech found almost a foot of water in/underneath the car. I had no smells in the vehicle, no signs of water, nothing! They told me the water drainage pipe is broken which causes all the damage. I promptly filed an auto insurance claim.

Hi,

I just got my mail and I received a bill from State Farm, and a check from them (for a refund on another policy). This insurance is driving me crazy!! Has anyone had good luck with an insurance company? Maybe once a year bills? Maybe insuring a group of cars together? Has anyone used Hagerty?
Please help.

Thanks!

Auto Accident/damage

Hi,

My car was parked in the parking lot. A driver living in the same apartment complex knocked down my front bumper. A police report was filed, their insurance accessed the damage and determined a total loss, but they're saying my vehicle is old with some damages already and thus has no value. I need them to fix my bumper, but they won't do anything. What can I do?
Please help.

Thanks!

Hi,

I pay a higher rate for my mail car insurance because it is for work and I read on here somewhere that we are covered through the postal service in someway while we are working so that we would not have to pay a higher rate. The person that was saying this said they made a copy of this somewhere in the contract and has it on file with her insurance agent, anyone have any info on this.
Please help.

Thanks!
