My name is Ann and I just joined the forum. I’m new to Disability Insurance business. I’m still trying to understand it all and still navigating through all the different ways to approach these issues. I was wondering – for those of you involved in the industry (especially veterans) business owner or not, what are some of services, tools, strategies, or latest resources you find helpful or profitable in doing your work or - business? Online or offline, I’m sure there is quite a lot in both right?!

Would it be better for me to collect disability after being laid off from my job or unemployment. I am 5mop pregnant. Someone told me it would be better and then I could collect unemployment after I have the baby if I need to.

I was put on disability pregnancy related for 32 weeks by my OB, i gave birth 4 wks before i reach the 32 weeks my OB gave me. Will my SDI benefits be cut after i gave birth? And i was terminated by my employer because of that they cannot hold on to my position while i was on disability, what will i do next? Can my OB / primary doctor extend my disability up to 54 weeks since i filed only 32 weeks at first?

In 2005, I purchased a disability policy while I was working as a CPA. I subsequently quit my job to follow my dream of being a chef. Unfortunately, I injured my back, and I can no longer work as a chef.

My old CPA firm is willing to hire me again. If I take a job with them, am I still able to collect on my disability policy?

Hello,When I began working for my current employer 10 years ago, I failed to sign up for long term disability coverage. I was 22 at the time and it was an oversight on my part. Since then in 2008, 2009, and 2010, I had 3 separate eye procedures to treat an eye condition called kerotekonus in my left eye. My condition has improved to the point where I now see my cornea specialist now only once a year. My eyes are in a very good condition.

I have been collecting CA unemployment - and will be having a child soon. Once I am "unable to work", am i then eligible for state disability and/or paid family leave?

Any info would be greatly appreciated as I cannot get through to anyone in the unemployment/disability offices!
