Injury on job, School Bus Driver...out on Temp Disability but runs out before workmens comp gets approve ,which I applied for. How or what should I do?

My employer offers LTD as part of standard benefit and they also choose to either make it taxable or not. Are the premiums added directly to my taxable benefits? Or, would I be required to pay the taxes if I receive the benefits on true disability grounds?

I believe taxing is a good deal since the premiums are not that much high and the benefits are so good that it could easily replace my current income.

Unfortunately, a no-brainer to me. So any commentary that would elaborate the pros and cons would be very helpful and appreciable.

I am 77 years old and had a knee replacement recently. However, I didn't get any state disability insurance benefits as they said that I couldn’t collect SDI after 65. I paid all the bills out of my paychecks. So why do I have to pay if I don’t get it when I need the most?

I want you all to help me with my disability that I got before my employer terminated my services. The main problem here is that I received an ankle injury before I was laid off. But the doctor who treated me under-diagnosed my health and certified that I was fit to walk and work.

I have been hit by a crane at the construction site. The doc has advised me complete rest for the next 3 months due to a broken shoulder girdle. I have a family of four to support and don’t know how to bear all the household costs. The savings though I have isn’t enough to pay for rent, school tuition fees and the likes. What I want to know from here is, am I eligible for workers compensation? If at all, how? I am at my wits end because of all this. I am a contract labourer and can’t afford an attorney or hire an expert. Please advice. Thank You.

I am disabled and on SSD, and staying here in Florida since 2005. My insurance went up to $90 each month. My health conditions are good and don't smoke. I need an insurance within my affordability. I really can't afford $90 a month. Could anybody help me?

I’ve life insurance and accidental death insurance. However, I was thinking of getting another that would offer money in case I get injured in an accident and become disable. I’m a rider - I mean I ride horses and ride often. I am just trying to ensure that in case there is a disabling injury, there should be something to protect my family. Please don’t suggest to google or yahoo. I’m seriously looking for a name!

Can you receive both unemployment insurance benefits and social security at the same time in New York?

Could anyone tell me about an insurance company that would allow me to purchase workers compensation insurance for household employees (nurse/main etc) as a rider to homeowners or renters insurance or general liability insurance? I've already reached out many carriers but didn't come across one who provides this.
