Getting Motivated to Sell

What do you personally do to get motivated before you sell?

I personally like to listen to some of my favorite songs for a few minutes before I hit the phones or the road for appointments.

Another friend of mine goes to the gym every morning and works out right before he makes calls. I've noticed his energy level stays high throughout the day.

One agency I used to work for had morning motivational meetings to get agents fired up...

The question is what do you do and why is it effective?

How would universal healthcare affect the health agents?

My question is for the agents of this community. I’m starting off with the agent’s career and am interested in the line of health insurance. I’d like to hear from ya’ll…how do you think that the universal healthcare system would affect the business of health insurance agents? Do you think that at this time of transition a new agent should start-off with the line of health insurance?

A friend who sells life and health, would like to hire me part time as an office assistant. I understand that I cannot quote, sell or solicit insurance policys without a license. A little background I have some sales experience. I was a part time independent travel agent (commission only home based) and did fairly well at it, until orbitz, travelocity and a few of the other online travel agency's pulled most of business away. I took an early retirement from the auto industry.

Selling Insurance over weekends and holidays...

Being this is a holiday weekend, how do you all feel about selling insurance over holidays and weekends? (especially Sundays) Do you find that you annoy people much more by doing this? Do you get into contact with more people? Are those that you get into contact with more receptive? Is there a lot less competition over the weekend or over holidays?

My mentor really advocates this and I have seen it work for him like a charm. What are your thoughts on this?

Does anyone with background issues ever dealt the the California Department of Insurance Background Bureau? I have been waiting for more than 2 months for my license to be approved or denied...

How long does this type of thing take... do I have a chance of approval with a "past"?
