Hello,
This question is for those that have an assistant (maybe a dumb question).
I just hired a part time assistant to do my paperwork and to make cold calls.
What would you say would be the best way to utilize them?

Why do so many new insurance agents "wash out" so

I have seen firsthand many new insurance agents nearly go broke trying to figure out this business, and have nearly done so myself. When I look back on the mistakes I have made I always come back to two things in common with everyone else I have seen leaving the business which are:

1. Over spending their marketing budget
2. Not having the sales skills to close deals

I currently work as a sales agent inside a larger insurance company. However, I'm going to be expanding out in my off time. I plan to obtain appointment with a few companies through a local broker I know, and I will operate as a free agent under his watch. My goal is to sell mainly final expense and health plans here in Washington state.

Hi I'm new to the site. I wonder if someone could give me a little difference in opinion about becoming a new agent. I would like to become a P/C agent but people are leaning me towards becoming a L/H agent. Would anyone like to talk about it?

4. Appraisals
5. Review of All Assets
6. Claims / Debts
7. Taxes
8. Distribution of Estate
9. Accounting

Does the Weather really affect sales?

Does the Weather really affect sales?

I had an agent tell me that when the weather is bad outside, they try and stay home and not make any appointments or prospect.

But I would think that more prospects would be home in bad weather.

In great weather, they would be out doing more and would be busier, I would think.
If it is raining for example, they could not be outside working in the yards or would be more limited to the things they could do. They might have more time for you.

In my experience of insurance industry i had came across one typical case where the person had given all the related documents in order to get the life insurance. Agent (i) submitted all the docs to the concerned office of the insurance company. Those officials over there even gave the acknowledgment towards the docs.

After some days insurance company demanded the same documents to the client which he had submitted previously stating that they have lost the docs.

Hi,

I have received this tip to my email and i think this can be a good tip for all insurance agents.

How To Get Off To A Quick Start Selling Life Insurance And Annuities!

Let’s put some things into perspective. Most of the newer (less experienced) insurance agents we talk to are putting the cart before the horse. They are buying leads, setting up a direct mail system, or running ads in the newspaper, before they’ve made any money.

I just wanted to give you some food for thought.

Let’s talk about an avg sale. The client wants to protect their love ones if/when something happens to them. Most clients only think about covering the cost of a funeral and paying off the house. Some of them even think about the kids going to college, but that is all.

But a lot of clients are not protecting their family members enough. They are not thinking about income.
