What systems are you other agents/agencies using? I am currently seeking to purchase a contract and I was floored by some of the quotes and terms.

Who has the best annuity contract for the customer and the agent?

Hey all! I'm a newbie. Been in the insurance business for 3 yrs. Got promoted into district manager already. I think it would suit my easy going personality to own an agency or investment outlet instead. I'd rather deal with new sales and customers than being other agents boss. I have a friend telling me that owning an allstate agency is the way to go and another telling me that selling investments at edward jones is great. Can I get some sound advice from some folks that have been in these business for awhile? I'm young and single and don't mind starting from scratch if it is a wise move.

I was talking to the guy that owes Full Moon Pizza near my house. He told me that he is going to change his menu soon and was looking for local business sponsors to help pay for the cheap looking menu. These are the ones that can take home with you or they are place mats to place your food on.

He does not know how many other businesses will want to do this and could not give me a price right now.

If this is cheap, I might do it. He said he would not charge much at all. Just wants to cover his expenses.

I'm approached by a company to work on their behalf as an underwriter for their vision plans. But I'm not very confident about it. I don't have the educational background to perform as an underwriter.

I've heard that underwriting is a very skilled profession and requires a lot of knowledge and exposure. I'm fearing its a scam. Is it common for companies to approach unskilled people for underwriting jobs?

How do you form the habit of prospecting? How do you make sure you see or talk to people regularly?

I was getting ready to take my insurance exam and wanted to know what if 20 years ago you were charged with theft and it is on your record will that stop me from getting a lic in PA.It is a longer story but I just like to know if I have a chance.

What is a good or fair commission percentage for a new agent writing policies for an established independent agent. 1 agent told me for every policy (auto) i write, they would split it 75/25.

Prep Exam can anyone give me insight on Kaplan -vs- license2go? I have no prior insurance experience other that my adjusters license which I received during IKE. I've been hired by SHC working with the senior market. I need to have this exam passed with in 2 weeks. Had a friend who said for a new agent you really need to be in a classroom hands on environment, then another told me they were OK with online course. Any thoughts that could point me in a direction would be most helpful. I've heard some good and bad with L2go's site. This a great forum and extremely helpful.

Please tell me the needed qualifications and job opportunities for underwriters.
