Hi Folks, I'm entertaining buying into an existing book of business and starting out as an allstate independent agent . I have over 20 years of sales and marketing experience but no insurance related experience at all. So I'd be starting from scratch licensing and all.

Can anyone give me their opinion of this opportunity, company what I should watch out for?

The most important trait in you that you need to become a good and successful insurance agent is your energy level. You might be amazed to read this but this thing is much more important and influential than all other factors like hard work and communication skills. Not even for a second in a day should your energy level should drop while you are on your duty. If you have a meeting with one of your prospects on a hot sunny day and you will be meeting him after a long journey, you should look as fresh as ever. Your potential customer should feel that you are attending him nicely.

I have heard of HDFC life insurance in India and somebody told me there is a vacancy for insurance agent there....?
How can I apply?

We recently had a flood in the basement. We had no problem with our insurance company cutting us a check for the damage (mostly clean up and dry out). The check was written out to us AND to the mortgage company. Our mortgage company would not endorse the check. They had us endorse it and then they would pay 1/2 of the money after they received an estimate from our contractor. We got the estimate, sent it to the mortgage company and then received 1/2 the money. They will only release the rest of the money after an inspection.

Hey guys.

I am an independence agent from Texas. Recently, I had issued two policies with Universal North America. The company requested a driver license from previous state and policy is pending for cancellation. I had ask the clients but they don't remember. I also call department of transportation but they won't give it to me. Does anyone with any information of how to obtain driver license from Iowa and Florida.please help me out.
