Fender Bender - Getting a Fair Adjustment - Loss of Use

I was a PERMISSIVE driver on a vehicle which was slightly damaged - bumper. The other driver and her insurance company accepted liability for damaging car's bumper. Turns out I was substantially inconvenienced by obtaining estimates, dropping the vehicle at only authorized colission center in area, rental car company headaches and ultimately returning all of the above when my car was ready 4 days later.

It required two separate body shop estimates and then the back and forth to drop off and pick up the car at body shop.

Hello,

I work as an auto tech and today I had a disturbing phone call with a customer that got me wondering how insurance companies determine ACV on a vehicle. Im hoping someone can shed some light on the subject.

Can insurers force to include someone as driver?

My son has left for college in another state, and taken up residence there only. He doesn't even own a car. Still my insurance company insists on including him on my policy. I'm afraid that will raise the rates. Is it absolutely necessary?

Accident and Repo

I had an accident October 9th. Initially it was thought the car was totaled but turned out it was able to be fixed. I absolutely HATE the finance company simply because I am paying a brand new cost for a car that is a 2002 plus they do not make it easy to make the payment to them which has to be every 2 weeks at that. Anyway, I am 1 payment and yes do mean 1 payment behind because I have been trying to hold onto money to meet this deductible for when my car is fixed.

Who adds new driver to car policy in MN

My X is the custodial parent of our 16 year son who will be getting his driver's license soon. We split visitation time and I pay child support. I have heard that it is not necessary for both parents to 'add' him to the current policy. One parent has to add him, while the other parent lets their insurance carrier know that our son is covered by the other parent's policy. I'm assuming they will need to call the other parents carrier, or get a printed document of some sort, but my 'real' question is.......who add's him???

Repair vs. Total Loss

I was involved in a car accident that was not my fault. My preference is to have my car repaired. How can I convince my insurance company or the "at fault" insurance company to repair my car? Repairs are only $2600 and their total loss value is $2900. I have sent them research off the internet to support a value for my car anywhere from $3300 to $6000. It seems to me that they are being unreasonable in repairing my car for the dollars involved. PS - I have been with my insurance company for over 20 years.
