So last week I was hit by a car while riding my longboard. I was in the pedestrian lane going against traffic. As I was starting to cross a street at a T intersection a woman travelling the same direction as me attempted to make the left turn at the intersection and failed to yield to me and hit me. She received a ticket and I was transported to the hospital via ambulance with bad lower back pain and some road rash. I was there for a few hrs, they did an xray and nothing was broken, doctor said I probably tore the muscle. He prescribed me some pills and sent me on my way.
My floor just started to buckle and we have no idea why. Called insurance, they looked and says it might be from small leak in the toliet that leaks under the floor and has caused the problem. They a couple of days ago I have a big crack in tub. Tub is only couple years old. Insurance says it want pay unless it was sudden event or something like that...
I moved from Nevada to California for a period of 3 months during the summer. I was unsure whether or not I was going to stay, but to be safe, I transferred my car insurance to a California Branch of State Farm. I questioned the insurance agent if the insurance would be okay if I kept my NV registration since I had just renewed my NV registration in April. He said it was fine and that the insurance and registration do not need to be in the same state. Upon returning to NV, I was pulled over and told my plates were suspended.
I have custom laminate cabinets 2 were damaged by water under a covered claim. I don't think my cabinets can be matched. What is my alternative? Adjuster wants to try and match cabinets.
I was recently involved in an accident in which the other party was 100% at fault. I, not knowing much about what to do at that point, called my insurance company to report the accident which resulted in my opening a claim directly with them which they are going to 'subrogate' with other side but only on the car value and rental car portion. They say that my medical and other out of pocket expenses should be filed directly with the other side.
I was at a complete stop waiting for signal light to turn green to make a left turn. Other driver was making a left turn heading opposite direction of me, when his car spun out of control, jumped over the center divide and ran into my vehicle. This happened in California. His insurance company considered my vehicle a total loss but would only pay the ACV less the salvage amount because they said they don't offer salvaging service. They claim It is the responsibility of the owner even though i said i did not want the car.
other drivers insurance company decided my truck was a total loss. I told them i did not want to keep the car but would not offer to salvage my car. Said it was my responsibility. Insurance said they will only pay the ACV less salvage amount of $3700.00 which they estimated. is this legal in California? why is it my responsibility to take care of salvaging car?
