After many months, written letters, and phone calls, I have finally received payment on a death claim involving my late Aunt. However, a summary of the check amount shows that over $3,000.00 was deducted from "my share" and is in a SUSP ASST DEPT. Can anyone explain this to me? Calls to METLIFE have not been returned.

My allstate office called me up and offered to switch me to a new policy. We would save about 30% if we went to a new policy without the cancelable feature. All the other coverage would remain exactly the same. I guess this feature prevents them from dropping us if we get into an accident.

Both policies are Allstate...the new one is Allstate Fire and Casualty. The old one he said was AIC / Allstate.

My wife and I have good driving records and she was in an accident about 14 years ago last. We're talking about $600 a year savings.

My 17 year old daughter was in the car, when we were hit by a truck. No major injuries were involved, apart from the fact that my car got smashed and was totaled consequently. The party at fault has agreed to pay the compensation as well.

Now, my daughter is in trauma and has to undergo counselling to overcome the stage. Can I seek additional compensation for her treatments as well, and how much for the pain and suffering?

I was involved in a comprehension accident, a deer hit my car that was 2mos old( a 2012 S60 Volvo w/ 2Kmiles) that caused significant damage to the front right passenger side that repair was estimated at $15k . All the airbags deployed on the vehicle. I reside in NC where the repair cost have to be 70-80% to total out the car. Based on appraisal that I was not informed of nor present for and have yet to receive a copy of the appraisal to determine the car would be repaired instead of being totaled.

my car was hit in a parking lot they have the license plate number to this vehicle the police are investigating because the people in this vehcile commited a felony trying to run people over my question is i have liabilty coverage is my vehicle covered?

When does 'subrogation' work? How can someone defend against it?

A few weeks ago, a repairman (from Sears) came to my home to repair my washing machine. He forgot to put the hose back into the drain, which resulted in water pumping onto my floor for 2 hours. Although I removed the water immediately (with a shop vac) and put fans in place, my ceramic tiles started to crack (in the tile, not the grout). The cracks are present in my laundry room, kitchen and master bath. However, the tile runs continous throughout my dining room and foyer. The contractor has stated they cannot match the tile and grout.
