I am new to the insurance industry and i was wondering which has the most potential in earnings, Agents who work for one company or Brokers who work for multiple insurance companies?

I am a fairly new agent who just left aflac. I have a life and health license and am thinking about getting my P &C license. Im want to work with an independent agency, but not sure how pay/commissions are usually set up.
Is pay usually commission only, hourly, or combo? Grateful for help.

For me, it was investing in the very best agency management system, one with all the bells and whistles, and then actually taking the time to learn to use them.

Just wondering if anyone has any fantastic points with any particular carriers that pay residual commissions as long as the policy is in force.

Is anyone using a newsletter to clients? If so, how has it worked for you in terms of new lead generation and retention of clients?

Right now with so many people freaking out over the economic meltdown – I think it’s important to show customers, prospects, family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, acquaintances, etc. that we are excited about something. It doesn’t have to be a big deal, but just to be passionate about something. And it really can be anything, excitement just catches fire and it attracts people to you. Taking action on something new and being excited about it can mean huge things in terms of happiness and positivity.

Agents- Do you have your auto insurance policy thru the agency where you work or with another company? If the answer is NO, would you mind sharing why you choose to do so?

Do you adopt different sales approaches when selling to female or male customers?

Does anyone know anything about Glen Smith Consulting? I've been offered a job by this company to send and receive Western Union and Money Gram transfers for local and foreign clients.

I feel like it's some sort of scam. They claim to be a part of The Producers' Alliance but there is no mention of Glenn Smith on their website. Any help would be warmly received.
