I am wondering what the going salary is in your area for someone licensed in P&C and also L&H. Also if you could post where you are located.

I am interested in hearing about hourly wage & also commision percentage. Let's say the person has 2 years experience in the insurance industry.

I signed up with an American Family Insurance agent in 2007. He disappeared three months later leaving unpaid rent an other bills. I moved out of the country and just recently moved back.

When I applied for auto insurance I found this agent had supposedly paid out for an accident I never had, which was supposed to be my fault. There's no police report on this accident and I never received any paperwork or info from American Family Insurance they had paid out on this claim.

I do come across information on accident or health insurance claim filing process across so many forums.

Now, I'd like to have more information on the documents needed while filing such claims.

I am in the process of taking a pre-licensing course to prepare me for the state exam. I just wanted to know if selling insurance would be difficult to achieve if you have absolutely no experience but are in training? I have experience in retail (selling womens clothes; 3 years) and I will be getting my bachelors degree in Public Health; 2 classes left. Therefore; I wanted to know if I am making a wise decision before signing any contracts and regretting this later.

What are the key points I should consider while choosing my insurance agent? Is it true that the independent insurance has more advantages than the captive one?

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on ways to grow the agency during these tough economic times.
