Is Aflac a preferable career choice?

I plan to make a career change, I have decided I want to sale insurance for a living. I have some sales experience but I have never sold insurance before. I am considering starting my career with Aflac, but I would like to get some feedback regarding Aflac as my first option. I have been told that I should look into other insurance companies, I have gone to the state farm and Allstate websites but it seems that they are only looking for people that want to open an office. Any feedback, especially from experienced agents, will be greatly appreciated.

If you have any senior clients unable to make their monthly premiums or have senior clients looking for some extra cash, why not refer them to a life settlement broker? We all are familiar (or should be) with the obvious local networking opportunities with the chamber of commerce and their functions, but has anyone found any other ideas that work well?

For example, what activities do you carry out to pursue referral opportunities? Do you offer anything specific? Do you simply try and swap referrals?

What are some ideas?

I'm a licensed P&C agent with 8 years experience in customer service with 6 months sales experience. I've been offered a sales position at an independent agency in my small town. This agency is really not on the map in town as far as personal sales goes even though they have been in business since 1891. They don't advertise on the building or in the media at all. They currently do not have any personal market sales people working for them and they have not had any for quite a few years. The manager just happen to find my resume online as he was looking for a CSR.

Hello,I sell advantage plans with a group of brokers. They owe me about 12,000 dollars from my second half commission. It's been about 6-7 months and I haven't seen a dime from my second half. Is it true that Medicare makes the private insurance company wait to give us our commissions??? I can't find any answers regarding commissions, I have no idea where to even turn.

I currently have bad bad credit since I have lost my house. I have been unemployed for a year before I decided to pursue an insurance career. Now, I am considering filing for Bankruptcy would it be best to file it before I take my insurance test. Or will filling Bk affect my chances of getting my license?
