I am looking at starting an agency from scratch. Can anyone recommend a few good carriers that will look at a brand new agency. I have almost ten years of experience in claims and 1 year of sales.

I'm thinking about taking some classes for licencing and would like in the long run operate my own agency

I currently work for a Captive Agent as a Sales Assistant. I was pondering becoming a Sales Agent myself.

The reasons I would like to become an Agent:

I would not have to sit in the office all day.
I would still get bonus pay or at least some commission regardless of whether or not my team has reached their sales goals (currently if the whole team does not make their sales goals and my individual goals are met, I will not get a bonus).

I am looking into good sales leads for final expense. we just found a great tool that I will be implementing very soon. but I was wondering if anyone knew about low cost leads for final expense that are actually working well for them.
please let me know any info good or bad so Ill at least know who to stay away from. I have already ordered leads from infousa and sales genie, this is great if you like cold calling.lol which I dont mind to much.

I worked for a personal injury law firm for 20 years, my duties were handling auto claims i worked with adjusters,doctors, imaging centers and also settled claims. I am now unemployed and am considering becoming an licensed adjusted and I am not sure what direction to take. I also have 12 years experience as a private investigator and was a licensed investigator at one time what advice can you offer?

I need to know the pros and cons between a Public Adjuster or an Insurance Company Adjuster.

Also having Group Health Insurance is important to me. Does this eliminate the public adjuster and point me to working for an insurance company?

I am looking to work in ma as an independent property adjuster. MA issues licenses for ONLY public adjusters. How do i become an independent property insurance adjuster in MA?

My son passed his P&C exam last year. I work at home (not in the insurance industry) and I am trying to help him become more informed about what he is doing- his company is not training very well. He has brought them a lot of business, but he hasn't become proficient at the rest. He is writing auto, home, and some commercial. Are there any sites where we can download ACORD forms that are free, and you don't have to subscribe? Are there any well-known books that are good reference books for a beginner that wants to know more about forms and insurance besides the sales portion?

President Barack Obama signed legislation yesterday to expand SCHIP coverage to 4 million additional children. Obama will pay for the plan by raising the federal tobacco tax .62 to $1.01 per pack.

What are any thoughts on the new SCHIP law? How will this affect the Health Insurance industry? Will Agents be in greater demand to service the new consumers? If so, what education or training are required for Agents to sell plans through SCHIP? Will this new legislation pave the way for Obama to pass his promised Health Care Reform in his first term?
