Hi, i am a teacher, over 40, thinking of a career in insurance. Do you think they'll appreciate my experience and give me a shot? I know teachers do a lot of talking, explaining, analyzing, planning and a kind of "selling" of informatio to students, and also to parents and other teachers. Would i do better to look into claims adjusting or sales? Any advice appreciated.

In this bad economy, I've been downsized. I'm a marketing communications veteran with 17 years experience but will be out of work in 2 weeks.

At the gym a friend who is an agent told me I really should consider insurance as it is recession proof. So here I am, doing my due diligence.

I think I could do well in the field--I know sales, I know targeting prospect needs, my career has been built on finding that nuance and building the message around it.

I am a new agent contracted through NAA here in Arizona. I am making a huge career change from the finance side of the car biz after 13 years. My question is what is the best form of insurance to sell Health, p/c, or just life, and why? Also who would be best to work for/with? I am the sole source of income for my family and don't have time to monkey around trial and error style. I have enough money to last me for 4-5 months so it is important that I get as much good advice and info as possible. Thank You Thank You!

I am intersted in becoming an independent agent. I have years of insurance experience in many areas; however, I don't know if I need to have a lot of capital. I plan to do it from home at the beginning since I currently work from home for my current employer. I live in Missouri and have found conflicting information regarding the requirement of funds. I will have three others coming on board as well. Any advice on how to get started and if we definitely, as an independent have to have a large amount of funds to get stated. Thanks
