My insurance company refused to cover a rental car i rented in on the grounds of having the car for regular use. It was a hit and run and I was not at fault so I also thought uninsured motorist would cover the rental also but I was told no by the claim adjuster. With 100% liability on the other party who hit us, and a direct settlement with their insurance co, and I want to keep the car, here is my question.

If salvage yards say "salvage value" is $1000, and the insurance co says Retained Value/Totaled Buyback(salvage value) is $5000 ,what do I do to buy the car back at current salvage value of $1000 ?

my sister had a RENTAL CAR THAT WAS HIT WHILE PARKED by an unknown person during the snow storm, and while she understands that she has to pay her insurance deductible of $500.00 to have the fender repaired, does she have to pay the entire $500.00 upfront or could she pay it in fractions. she doesn't have $500.00 upfront, so what can she do?
