What is meant by grace period in Insurance? Is this some kind of extension? I’m already having an auto insurance policy with GEICO, which is going to end on 19th of this month. If there is any kind of grace period associated with auto insurance, would I be able to make use of it? I really need it!! There is no clue in the papers. Should I ask my broker? We are no longer in good terms actually. Thanks for any help!

P.S: I'm in TX.

Last week I got rear-ended at a red light and then hit the car in front of me. The other person was 100% at fault, my insurance declared the car totaled and now I am going through the painful process of dealing with the low-balling.

I got into an accident last night at about 10pm. A blue mustang that passed over me so speedily and in the process came so close that I lost control of my vehicle, drove off the road and hit a tree. The mustang fled the scene.
I called my insurance company right there and within moments and made a claim. The police never got into that place so there is no police report (just eyewitnesses of two tow trucks).

My car was stolen in DC and I have since moved to West Virginia. The auto insurance carrier is demanding that I travel 6 hours to sit through a SECOND EOU!
I have signed the initial EOU transcript. How can they legally and ethically make such demands?

On 6/22/2013 i was involved in a T-bone accident on my right side @ about 45 mph. The car was a disaster.The airbags never deployed Luckily me and my wife were not hurt.

My 2006 Toyota Tundra 4x4 crew cab was damaged by large hail in April 2013. I had an insurance adjuster look at it and appraise the damage. They issued me a check for the repairs; however because there were so many vehicles damaged during the hailstorm, I decided to wait a few months to have my truck repaired. I had not cashed the check the insurance co. Had issued.

There are exactly zero cars in my half of the US that meet the 90 day window +/- 1 year from my model. My insurance company is basing comps on one car in Texas and one in Minnesota. I live in San Francisco, California. Is it being unreasonable to ask for adjustment to include differences in smog equipment requirements and to factor in something for the fact that EVERYTHING is more expensive here?

Saira: OK, I had a car crash on the 24th of Feb this year, my car was written off , I then received a letter from Chevrolet in April (my car models company)telling me to bring my car in as its been recalled for break issues. at the time of my crash I experienced unstable breaks. My excess was £3000 which I'm still paying for now. My insurance company (service underwriting)said to me that they would send the engineer report to Chevrolet so that they can come out an inspect my vehicle.
